"A house does not have to be perfect to be a home of joy, a child does not have to behave perfectly to love and be loved, and every moment of life does not have to be perfect to be of value. Too often, I realize, we fail to see the glorious reality of the simple joy that abounds in the seemingly mundane routine of day-to-day living. Instead, we tend to idolize the past, idealize the future, and devalue the present.... What better way to show our appreciation to Heavenly Father for what we have than to embrace our lives, albeit 'ordinary' and 'unexciting,' with joy?"

Grocery Shopping.

I used to love grocery shopping. But when we moved to Seattle, I kind of lost my love because of the high prices. This evening however, I did some shopping at Albertsons and found my love again. I walked out the door with a shopping cart full of groceries, spent $112.87 out of pocket, but between coupons and the deals in the ad, I saved 67.33. I also got two free movie tickets and a coupon for 2.50 off my next purchase at Albertsons. Not too shabby.

We've gotten out of the habit of eating at home and I'm trying to get us back into that mode since I'm hoping to implement a budget again. With gas at 4.40 a gallon and me hoping to work less, a budget is going to be a necessity and its a sacrifice I'm ready for!
