"A house does not have to be perfect to be a home of joy, a child does not have to behave perfectly to love and be loved, and every moment of life does not have to be perfect to be of value. Too often, I realize, we fail to see the glorious reality of the simple joy that abounds in the seemingly mundane routine of day-to-day living. Instead, we tend to idolize the past, idealize the future, and devalue the present.... What better way to show our appreciation to Heavenly Father for what we have than to embrace our lives, albeit 'ordinary' and 'unexciting,' with joy?"

Cake Mix Cookies

A friend of mine gave me the recipe to turn a simple boxed cake mix into cookies. Chloe and I gave it a try today. It was really easy and the cookies turned out deliciously! The recipe is:

1 box of cake mix (any flavor)
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs

You can toss in chocolate chips, nuts or anything else you'd like.
Mix together and bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.

Chloe chose to make funfetti cookies and we didn't add anything to them since Chloe is very anti-chocolate. She told me they were the best cookies she has ever had and we should make them more often!

I bought a butter pecan cake mix to make some cookies for Justin that have pecans and chocolate chips. I hope they turn out as yummy as they sound!
