"A house does not have to be perfect to be a home of joy, a child does not have to behave perfectly to love and be loved, and every moment of life does not have to be perfect to be of value. Too often, I realize, we fail to see the glorious reality of the simple joy that abounds in the seemingly mundane routine of day-to-day living. Instead, we tend to idolize the past, idealize the future, and devalue the present.... What better way to show our appreciation to Heavenly Father for what we have than to embrace our lives, albeit 'ordinary' and 'unexciting,' with joy?"

Birthday Parties

In the past two years, I have become quite aware of how popular the months of June and July are to give birth. How have I made this discovery? By the number of birthday parties we have attended in those months. In June, Chloe (and subsequently Cooper and I) attended three parties. July has brought us two so far with FIVE more on the calendar. Two this weekend, two next weekend and one the following weekend. That will bring July's total to SEVEN!

Its a good thing I like these kids and their parents otherwise my daughter would be sitting some of these parties out.
