"A house does not have to be perfect to be a home of joy, a child does not have to behave perfectly to love and be loved, and every moment of life does not have to be perfect to be of value. Too often, I realize, we fail to see the glorious reality of the simple joy that abounds in the seemingly mundane routine of day-to-day living. Instead, we tend to idolize the past, idealize the future, and devalue the present.... What better way to show our appreciation to Heavenly Father for what we have than to embrace our lives, albeit 'ordinary' and 'unexciting,' with joy?"

Mom's Night Out

When Chloe started co-op preschool at 2.5, we were lucky enough to become part of a wonderful 'community' of people. Many friendships have been formed and kept even though our children no longer go to school together. The co-op preschool encourages a once monthly "mom's night out" among the parents in each class. After three years of monthly Mom's Night Outs, we've continued the tradition and now share kindergarten stories (and it will be first grade stories here before we know it!) instead of potty training stories!

In May, we decided to go to a Mariner's game instead of a restaurant. We dined on fabulously, greasy food while sitting in the cheap seats and chit-chatted through the whole game (which wasn't an exciting game anyways!).
