I've got so much going on inside my head, between weddings, high school reunions, my last day of work (today!), kindergarten, our garage sale this weekend, and numerous other things... I have no idea what to blog about. Lets call it Blog Block. So, for now, I will just leave you with the thought of the day:
"The child must know that he is a miracle, that since the beginning of the world there hasn't been, and until the end of the world there will not be, another child like him."

Pardon me while I brag for a moment
I've been wanting a new dining room table for a few months now. We have the typical starter dining room set of a smaller-sized natural colored pine farm table with matching chairs that we bought when we got married. I decided a few months ago that I want a round dining room table with a leaf, preferably in black. It hasn't been a priority because it isn't something we need, just something I want and we definately don't have the budget to just go out and buy a new dining room table on a whim! I've been watching Craigslist and scoping out garage sales hoping to "stumble" upon my dream table without luck.
I was in Pottery Barn over the weekend with my mom and I stopped to admire my dream table. Solid wood, round with a leaf, black... It was gorgeous! And, marked all the way down to $500 (insert sarcasm here) because of the huge chunks missing off the edges where it was obviously dropped on its side.
So, imagine my suprise two days later when I stopped into Goodwill (the thrift store) and there sitting amongst the furniture was a round, black dining room table (with a leaf!). Upon further inspection, I realize it is the Pottery Barn table that I had been admiring (but not the damaged one from the store). Someone must have had a mishap because the top does need to be refinished, but it is nothing we can't do ourselves. So, now for my brag... I bought a $899 Pottery Barn table for $59.99.
I'm on cloud nine! Now I just need to "stumble" upon some chairs!

I'd like to call your attention to:
gDiapers!
We started using them about four months ago. We use them along with our cloth and love them! They are a cloth pant with a flushable and/or biodegradable insert (since they don't contain plastic like disposable diapers). You can compost the wet ones and they only take one compost cycle (50-150 days) to break down compared to the 500 years that a traditional disposable diaper takes.

The Beach
When Justin's family was in town, we went out to the coast and stayed in Ocean Shores. We were lucky enough to be able to stay in a wonderful house owned by some friends of ours. It was a perfect "mini vacay." Here are some pictures:

Mr. Helpful
Cooper is my right hand man around the house. He is always there to help me (or take over). We got a steam cleaner for the carpets (YAY!) and Cooper decided to check it out. He pushed and pulled it around the living room, pulled the hose out, checked the brushes, turned the dials and made sure that we bought the right one.
Thanks for your help Cooper!
